If you are coming to stay in Canmore for any length of time, you'll likely be arriving via Calgary International Airport.
The simplest route to get here from the airport after a long flight is as follows. Exit the car hire parkade and turn right onto Airport Road.
Head straight across the traffic lights that will take you onto Barlow Trail heading south. Continue south on Barlow Trail until you reach Highway #1 and turn right (west) onto it.
Trans Canada Highway #1 (named 16th Avenue within Calgary) takes you through Calgary and west all the way to Canmore.
It should take around 1 hour 30 minutes minutes driving to get here.
Two shuttle services are available to and from Calgary International Airport.
If you're visiting Canmore by car as part of a longer tour, you'll have no problem finding the town. Canmore is just outside the eastern entrance to Banff National Park on Trans Canada Highway #1. Typically you'll either be entering the national park on the next stage of your tour after your visit to Canmore or you'll have just exited the national park prior to arriving at Canmore.
