Indoor Climbing

Canmore has an outstanding new recreation centre, Elevation Place, located on Railway Avenue. Opened April 2013 it offers a wide range of activities, including a Climbing Gym designed by World renowned Walltopia.

The Climbing Gym has features such as chimneys, cracks, ledges, corners, and a prow, as well as pockets, holes, and pinches, designed so you can make the most of your climbing experience, whether a beginner or training for international competition.

Membership is not a requirement as you can pay drop-in fees to use the centres facilities. Or you can buy varied passes, depending on your needs, time available and budget.

The Climbing Gym includes:

• 10,000 sq.ft. of climbing surface as high as 45 ft. at its peak
• 1,500 sq.ft. of bouldering
• Cave-like moose-hole that connects climbing rooms
• International Federation of Sport Climbing designed 30 ft. speed wall
