Canmore outdoor ice skating rinks
Canmore has two NHL size arenas which are used for Junior A hockey, adult recreational hockey, minor hockey, figure skating, speed skating, learn-to-skate programs, public shinney and public skating.
During peak regular season (October–March) available arena prime time during the week is limited (also read impossible) due to such high demand. However there are some non-prime time slots open in the week and during the summer months, but basically if you're not retired or in a club ice time is virtually non-existant.

To book: phone the Facility Booking Coordinator at 403.678.0808 ext.335 (Mon-Fri 8:30am - 4:30pm).
IMPORTANT NOTE: While helmets are not mandatory for ice skating they are a good idea, especially for beginners or young children.
Helmets for cycling, hockey, skiing and snowboarding are considered normal, but a fall on the ice while skating can be just as dangerous, so it makes sense to protect the most important part of your body... your brain (and we are talking from experience requiring stitches).
